Board of Directors

It is an important strength of SCS that it has a highly experienced Board with a strong blend of industrial, entrepreneurial and technical experience. The successful development of the technology to date coupled with broad patent protection has been driven by this Board through its regular monthly meetings.

Will Iselin: Chairman

Will is an experienced investor in, and advisor to, private UK companies.

He is the founder of Winghaven Partners, a boutique investment bank that provides corporate finance and M&A advice in primarily the technology and telecoms sectors.  As an investor, Will has played both executive and non-executive director roles in numerous private companies and is actively involved in financial planning, strategy and business development.   Will has an AB degree in History from Harvard College.

Dr Jörg P. Feist: Managing Director

Jörg  is responsible for general management, project management and R&D at Sensor Coating Systems.

He is a founder and co-inventor of the sensor  technology. Jörg has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College and a First degree in Physics (University Essen-Duisburg, Germany). Jörg has driven the SCS programme from foundation of the company in 2002 to the present day.

Dr Maurice Dixson: Non-Executive Director

Maurice is a widely experienced company director and manager of businesses.

For BAe he was Managing Director of the Commercial Aircraft Company leaving to join the main Board of GEC plc. Later he was CEO of Simon Engineering plc., a FTSE mid-cap company. He rescued Simon from near bankruptcy and restored its balance sheet.

Barry Shaw: Non-Executive Director

Barry Shaw has a BSc in Electrical Engineering from King’s College London.

He is an IT entrepreneur. Working in South Africa for many years he returned to the UK in 1987 and set-up his own business continuity company in a joint venture with SEMA group.

Dr Andy Heyes: Non-Executive Director

Andy is a founder of SCS and co-inventor of the sensor technology.

He is reader at the Mechanical Engineering Department of Imperial College, and has experience in optical measurement techniques and research interests in gas turbines. Before coming to Imperial College he spent six years with Rolls-Royce and BAE Systems.

Professor John R Nicholls: Non-Executive Director

Professor of Coating Technology at Cranfield University John has an established international reputation for his work on high temperature environmental and thermal protection coatings for gas turbines engines.

His work on advanced thermal barrier coatings has brought him close to Rolls-Royce plc.. John’s guidance on the SCS coating development programme has been of great value.
